The Montfort & Allie B. Jones Memorial Library is closed occasionally throughout the year in observance of various holidays.  When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the library will be closed both that Saturday and, per city policy, the preceding Friday.  When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the city will be closed the following Monday.

Because the library is always closed on Mondays, Sunday and Monday holidays do not affect the library's regular operating hours.

The City of Bristow observes these holidays:

  • New Year's Day: January 1
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: third Monday in January
  • Memorial Day: last Monday in May
  • Independence Day: July 4
  • Labor Day: first Monday in September
  • Veterans' Day: November 11
  • Thanksgiving Day: fourth Thursday in November
  • Day after Thanksgiving: fourth Friday in November
  • Christmas Eve: December 24
  • Christmas Day: December 25

The library's 2020 holiday closures:

  • New Year's Day: closed Wednesday, January 1
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: no additional closures*
  • Memorial Day: no additional closures*
  • Independence Day: closed Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4
  • Labor Day: no additional closures*
  • Veterans' Day: closed Wednesday, November 11
  • Thanksgiving holiday: closed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, November 26-28
Christmas holiday: closed Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, December 24-26

Holidays marked with an asterisk (*) fall on or are observed on Mondays.

Because the library is always closed on Mondays, these holidays will not affect the library's operating hours.  Other city services may be affected by those holidays. This page does not reflect closures for inclement weather or other emergencies.
