The library has a variety of ways to help you connect with your family and community history.  Our genealogy room has a microfilm reader with a collection of back issues of local newspapers, as well as local yearbooks and family histories, a collection of books on genealogical research, Native American history, and Oklahoma history, and much more.  You can also access our Ancestry and Fold 3 databases from any library computer.

Need some guidance?  The Bristow Genealogy Society meets the first Thursday of the month in the library’s large conference room from 3 PM – 5 PM.  Members will share their discoveries and can help you get started on your own family research.  It costs $10 for an individual membership or $12.50 for a family membership, but you can try a meeting for free to see if you want to join!  The membership fee includes a research notebook to guide you and help you keep your information organized.

Bristow has a rich history, and you never know what you might find.  Check out these pictures that were recently donated to our Genealogy Room!
