Friends of the Bristow Public Library Association to host Poetry Contest
The Friends of the Bristow Library Association is hosting the third annual Poetry Contest at BPL! Costs for entries and a downloadable entry form are listed below. Entries and entry fees for the poetry contest may be placed into manila envelopes and turned in to the library. All proceeds from this contest go to support Friends of Bristow Library.
Contest Guidelines:
Participants must live in within our service area, or within a 50-mile radius from library.
- Poems will be judged in 4 categories: K-4th, 5th-8th, 9th-12th and Adult.
- 1st and 2nd place prizes will be awarded in each category.
- The maximum length for poems is 40 lines. Poems may be rhymed, unrhymed, structured, free
form or anything in between. - Please make sure the author’s name is not on the poem, so judging can be anonymous.
- There is a limit of three poems per person.
- Each poem must have a title.
- A signed entry form and entry fee must be submitted with each poem in order to be eligible.
